El Milyoner (Arabic: المليونير) is the Egyptian version based on the original British Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. Aired from July 20, 2012 to October 29, 2012 on Al hayat TV2/1 under the original format, and from April 24, 2013 under the clock format. Hosted by George Kurdahi. Top prize is 1 000 000 Egyptian pounds.
From 2013, the show was broadcast under the clock format: 30 seconds are given to give an answer from the 1st to the 5th question, 45 seconds from the 6th to the 10th question. After question 10 there is no clock.
On July 31, 2012, a man named Mohammed became the first contestant to walk away empty-handed. The question asked to him was: "What is the metal that is used to coat iron to protect it from rust?". He said it was lead, but zinc was the correct answer.
1, 2, 3, 4 are used in the answer options instead of A, B, C, D.
