The Bowen's second million pound question
Laurence and Jackie Llewellyn Bowen once played in February 11, 2006 on the UK version of the show for a Valentines Day special. They were originally ruled to have incorrectly answer their £1,000,000 question, but the question turned out to be a bad question, so they were brought back for another £1,000,000, but this time, they decided to walk with £500,000.

It was later found out that the question was flawed. "One out of many" was the motto of the United States, and it did have Latin origins, but since 1956, they have also been using "In God we trust," but it did not have Latin origins, so the question was ruled out as a bad question and Laurence and Jackie were invited back for another £1,000,000 question, which was:

| This time, the couple was not sure, so they decided to take the £500,000 and not risking £468,000 again. The question was then asked for their text game for the viewers at home. They would have 30 seconds to come up with the answer, and the winner would win £1,000. At the end of the 30 seconds, Jackie guessed for Laurence D: Yuri Gagarin, but if they went for it, they would have lost £468,000 for real that time. The correct answer was C: Gus Grissom. |
Trivia
- They are the first and only celebrity pair in the UK to get to the final question, even though the question turned out to be bad.
- They are the last contestants to win £500,000 on the British version of Millionaire.
- Their run was not repeated on Challenge. It was likely due to the bad question turned out to be a bit controversial to show after the original airing.
- They were the first ever contestants in the UK Version to answer the £1,000,000 question incorrectly. However, Chris announced that they were given another chance of winning the Million. The Celebrity Pair takes away £500,000 after they walked away from their Second Million Pound Question.
Goofs
- When the Llewellyn Bowens lost £468,000, the £500,000 lose cue was played instead of the £1,000,000 one.
