Marie Friedel (1948 - 10 January 2014), from Gers, appeared as a contestant on Series 5 of Qui veut gagner des millions? on 26 and 27 August 2004. She became France's third and, to date, last top prize winner, and the first to win 1 000 000 € in the Euro era.
